Yesterday was Thaipusam, a Hindu festival celebrated by the Tamil community in the country on the full moon in the Tamil month of Thai. Had went to the Batu Caves, which has become a focus and a pilgrimage site for Thaipusam…

Had wake up late, when reached there was already 10am++ . It’s already a huge crowd of pilgrims + devotees + tourists…

A giant signboard of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak facing the entrance…

The entrance was blocked by guards every awhile to avoid too many people go in to the temple area at the same time.

Massive crowd flowing in via the Entrance Arch…

Was being asked by this lady to take a photo of her. Forgot to thank her properly ^^||

Due to was in a rush to next place, didn’t follow up to the stairs and the temple in the cave.

Sigh, although i still enjoyed being at the place since it’s my first Thaipusam doing Thaipusam related thing (as contrast to previous years of just slacking at home ^^||), but photo-shooting wise, wasn’t too satisfied (although was still excited at the moment). Lack of preparation. TT__TT

To-do-next year #0 : Wake up earlier, and GET OUT EARLIER T^T
To-do-next-year #1: Allocate full day (or even more) to this festival alone. 2 hours was far from enough, considering the traffic jam near the place (massive jam along the main roads towards Batu Cave), and the massive crowd.
To-do-next-year #2 : Spend some time study more regarding what the festival is about. Yesterday i was only know to press the shutter button, and totally didn’t know what i want to shoot.
To-do-next-year #3: Have some time chat with the pilgrims, perhaps this way i can learn more about the festival. Even can take nicer picture i think.
To-do-next-year #4: Go with friends. The more the merrier ^^

P/S:
To be honest, my understanding regarding Thaipusam now is just a mere 1% only. For more info regarding this festival, kindly click here and here.
